What is it?

Miktlan is a peer to peer service crowdfunding service for students and recent graduates.

Borrow

Borrow up to 2000€, you propose how much you interest you want to pay and join a group willing to loan you the money.

Loan

Loan up to 200€ per month, you decide how much interest you expect in return and join a group willing to meet your conditions.

Always Fair

Miktlan was created to be fair. Borrowing or lending is always up to 200€ per month. All transactions last only up to a year. We want to help! Not to keep you on debt or become rich overnight.

How does it work?

Miktlan follows a group based investing service. You join a group, where people are willing to either borrow or lend money. We match you with each group according to the conditions determined by the members of the group.

  • Do you need money?

    1. Create an account in Miktlan.
    2. Verify your account... we need to make sure you are not getting a loan for your Dog.
    3. Select the amount you need, as long as it is less than 2000 €.
    4. Select how much interest rate you are willing to pay on your loan.
    5. Join a group that meets your conditions.
    6. Get your money and cover your emergency.
    7. Pay every month up to 200€ until you covered your loan and interest rate.

  • Do you want to help?

    1. Create an account in Miktlan.
    2. Verify your account... we need to make sure you are not a loan shark trying to take advantage.
    3. Select the amount you can provide every month, as long as it is at most 200€ and for how long.
    4. Select how much money you would like to receive for helping.
    5. Join a group that meets your conditions.
    6. Contribute every month your agreed amount.
    7. Receive your money back, with the interests you requested.

  • What is in it for Miktlan?

    • We have been there, we know it can be tough to cover what it seems small financial emergencies.
    • We make sure that everyone participating is a member of the community.
    • We connect you with all members of the community.
    • We make money by keeping 10% of the interest you are paying.
    • We charge a small subscription fee.

This is how Miktlan works

Community coming together!

John needs 400€ to buy his ticket to start his Erasmus program. He can save about 100€ every month, but unfortunately, he does not have all the money at once and now the tickets are cheap, who knows what will happen in 3 months!!
A friend tells him about Miktlan, so he opens an account and verifies his identity and student status. He joins a group that is willing to lend him the 400€ and he promises to pay back 440€ after four months.

Monthly payments

  • In January, John got his money and bought his ticket. Everyone else pays 100€.
  • In February, Mary got her 100 back, John pays 110€.
  • In March, Joan got her 100 back, John pays 110€.
  • In April, Mike got his 100 back, John pays 110€.
  • In May, Günter got his 100 back, John pays 110€.
  • The extra 40€ that John paid are distributed among all the group members... and Miktlan.
